Ron lived a life devoted to serving Jesus. His legacy, ministry, and testimony continue to make an eternal impact around the world.
Today and every day, we’re reminded—as Patch encouraged us—to “Keep sailing, keep serving, keep smiling, and keep singing to the Lord.”

Ken Collier and Ron (Patch) Hamilton first met while working together at The Wilds camp in 1969. Their friendship quickly grew, and over the years, they became lifelong collaborators. Ken, alongside Ron, played a key role in brainstorming ideas for the Patch the Pirate adventures in the earlier years. He also played the voice of numerous beloved Patch the Pirate characters!

After losing his left eye to cancer, Ron Hamilton was nicknamed “Patch the Pirate” by children at his church. He embraced his new identity and began writing character-building songs and audio adventures. 45 years later millions across the globe have been impacted by the music, stories, and biblical truth shared through Patch the Pirate. What began as a tragedy became the beginning of a life-changing ministry.

As we approach the anniversary of Ron (Patch) Hamilton’s homegoing, we want to share a glimpse into a special place—his office at Majesty Music. This is where countless Patch the Pirate adventures came to life and where he composed many of his beloved songs.
Ron brought an undeniable energy to the office, always ready with a smile—and sometimes a prank—for coworkers and visitors alike. Though the days of brainstorming sessions and songwriting at his desk are behind us, the memories remain.
